    Schweriner Aux.Cruiser ???

    Hi Guys,

I´´d like to hear your views and comments on this Schweriner Aux. Cruiser badge.
It looks suspicious, but what do you all think. (sorry, these are the best available pics.)

I also think that it looks suspicious. In fact, it doesn't have the one characteristic that I look for most in Schwerin ACs. (I believe that I saw an example like this one at a show recently....)

      Hi Skip,

I see what you mean, something just isn't right with this badge but it's difficult describe it.

      Just 4 points I don't like,

      1. Juncker type hinge on Schwerin Badge
      2. The way the oakleave is realy lying on top of the sail, on the right side of the badge
      4. the oakleaves don't feature the typical square cuts, like George pointed out in an outer thread.
      4. The overall shiny look, but this (like always) could be the result of the flash.

You realy need better pictures of this badge. What about the land areas, are the stippled or not?

        Hi Skip,

After looking at your pics some more I'm convinced that it is a fake.

A fake based upon complete ignorance on the part of the fakers. Since these guys used an unmarked Juncker badge as the example to produce this copy.
Everybody was so convinced that these unmarked Junckers were Schwerin badges, so the started faking them with the correct Schwerin Mark, instead of marking original Juncker badges with phony Schwerin stamps like we found out in an earlier thread.

PS: We have to give them credit for a good hinge and pin job, scary

          Yep Guys,

I am also convinced that this is a copy. As Phil stated, it looks more like a Juncker than a Schwerin!

Currently on sale, togeather with some other dodgy stuff, at the Hanseatische Auction House in Hamburg.

(where is this ikon for quick replies??)

            Hi Skip,

Just used it, it's on the right side under every post.

When you use the reply button at the end of each thread, you still can do it the old fashioned way.

But I think when you hit the "Reply" button on the lower right it automatically includes a quote of the previous post in your reply.

                  All Wrong

Definately a fake, There are lots of things wrong with this if you compare it with an original. The easiest one to spot is the name on the back the style of lettering is incorrect and should be as the attached photo.
