Nice. Joe can you make close-ups from the ribbon with number and average of the embroidery of the eagle and "tools". Just for looking!

Thanks. I do like especially the way of "embroidering" the eagle. When holding in hands it feels superb (and heavy)!
Some of them were covered in my book about gorgets, as with this flag as gorget was authorized to be worn.

Thanks Joe for posting the close up photographs.

Since I don't collect Hitler Youth, could you give me some idea just how rare these flags are? Thank you.

There are around 25 known if one includes both the DJ and HJ Bannfahnes .
So about as rare as a Deutchland Erwacht Standard .

If you figure in the early and later patterns of Bannfahnes ( the numbered scrolls being the major difference . some of the earlier scolls had letters with the numbers on the scrolls . The later patterns just had numbers on the scrolls and the Banns that were located outside the Reich that had a countries or regions name ... Palestine , Argentina , China etc ) and with both the HJ and DJ styles , I figure up to 2,580 to 2,600 were manufactured . ( I could be wrong as this is just my personal estimate ).
From what I have seen of documented surviving examples , I believe there are 14 HJ and 10 DJ Bannfahnes that are known to still exist .

There's a much more comprehensive list of these flags on the hj-research forum. This is the one referenced by Joe B in his post above so I thought might be useful to post a link for those interested in seeing what is still out there. The list also includes the female versions of the Bann and Jungbann flags. Anyway, here it is:

List of HJ Bannfahne, DJ Jungbannfahne, BDM and JM Untergauwimpel pennants known to exist
