Looks like an original clasp in VERY bad condition by the looks of the obverse. The piece is probably refinished too. I would pass on this.Kind regards,
Giel

An original clasp for sure, but finish is incorrect for FLL and the poor condition would make me pass on it as well.
TomIf it doesn't have a hinge and catch, I'm not interested......well, maybe a littleNew Book - The German Close Combat Clasp of World War II

Hi Chris,
The 3 pictures still look quite different, so its still very hard to make an opinion here. Maybe you can take a picture in clean daylight showing the true colors of it? The first picture how ever makes it for me without a doubt a bronze grade here...Kind regards,
Giel

More Photos
Hi Giel,
Thanks for the feed-back on the previous photos I've posted. I do appreciate your time. This particular piece is proving quite difficult to photograph. The back drops and lighting are having an inordinate influence on my attempts to capture the actual color. This latest image is collage with four different colored backdrops. All four are taken using ambient, indirect sunlight, and no fill flash. I hope these will allow you the information needed to offer your opinion on the original color of the finish.
Again, my thanks.

Hi Chris,
Try to scan the badge if you can with a scanner, that usually gives the best result for me on the true color of the badge.
The obverse doesn't appear to have any finish on it, I think someone polished it down so there is no finish left and we are seeing bare zink. On the reverse, there is definitaley a silver finish, but the way it is flaking off and its thickness is not correct for FLL IMO.
