I'm of the opinion that this is a nice authentic IAB.
It appears to be a silver plated badge over a zink base.
The detailing is quite something e.g. look at the rifle butt plate and the eagles head. How about the rifle foresight and the acorn cups.
The crimp of the ball hinge appears to be quite unique too.
Any comments on this item would be most appreciated. I think this badge is a keeper - what do you think?
The story behind it is that it was brought back by a New Zealand soldier who obtained it in the Western Desert in 1942.
