Panzer Assault Badge - Relic HELP

Hi herrzark
......Let me try to address the issues with this badge as I see them. Please keep in mind that any opinion I make is my own.
- TR HA panzer badges have been heavily copied with rather convincing results.
- The dirty condition of this badge gives rise to some questions.
- FAKE badges, of all types, exhibit the same look when artificially aged.
- I see no signs of zink rot.
- The shiny area on the back of the swaz suggests that the base metal may not be zinc.
Now, personally, I wouldn't be comfortable making a call, or purchase, by utilizing these images. Too many unknowns for me.
I suggest that this badge receives a good cleaning with warm, soapy water and then a treatment with petroleum jelly.
IMHO, for 36 euro, it wouldn't hurt to try and bring the best out of this badge by cleaning it. Besides, I'm not a fan of patina even were it a 350 euro badge.
