That one is bought from the Schickle stock IMHO. Here is mine that is double marked with both the L/52 as well as the L/15!

        Hi Hans,

for the double marked ones i totally agree .... for the unmarked ones it is only an assumption.

Not for me since you badge clearly shows the distinctive Schickle grinding on the rim of the badge under the catch!

            Hi Hans,

as said before i'm open for any opinion because i can't say it for sure. What do you think of this catch and rim? Typical Schickle?

I wouldn´t call that a Schickle catch although they used them but so did other makers from Pforzheim as well. And i can´t out that badge as a Schickle based on one pic alone... there are more to it than that!

Agreed Schickle too used this common standard catch and here we have it on a badge without the grinding on the rim and only the hinge looks like used by Schickle - enough to call it "for sure" and "without doubt" made by Schickle?

And here is an L/15 marked one with nearly no grinding on the rim so i would not call it a waterproof sign of Schickle's production.

Those are nice photos. Maybe this makes the comparison easier.

I'm no expert on wound badges but I thought this was the Zimmermann silver wound badge? (grueni1208's example) Seems quite different from the "Schickle-design" badge in setup although I would say it's from a sister die?

Perhaps it's not fair to compare zinc to Tombak production but I think the edges are not ground in the same style as the earlier badges?
(I've never seen so many wound badges in the Heer Badge forum before. )

But the grinding is present. For some reason Schickle had problems with their massive bunt WB´s

So after 3 pages of interesting rehash of the old debates, the short answer to casey76's original question from the top of the thread is "no".

The longer answer is it's the Schickle-design zinc IAB which could be made by Schickle or by someone else emulating Schickle's production and use of hardware.

                                Best regards,
                                ---Norm
