Gents,

Sometimes I turn up the strangest badges. This actually came out of a house clearance in a Berlin household. There were a few other bits of Militaria laying around, an EK2 and this.
I have a fair idea of how a authentic APB should look like, and I know that the solid ones have cutouts. Still this thing looks pretty sharp, and I really don´t know what to think, so anybody want to have shot at the authenticity question?

Oh!, I forgot to mention that I´m not at home and am using somebody elses camera. I´ll be taking this with me for the time being so I will do some more shots tommorow.

I may be wrong, but I always thought that this massiv style should have a wide fluted pin, similar to a numbered GAB. Do we know with certainty?

No freaking way!

That appears to be a 100% original C.E. Juncker. Congratulations!
They came with either a flat pin, or a needle pin.
The needle pin variation usually has no cut outs and the wide
pin variation usually has three.
Will it be for sale?

I have one like that somewhere...with no cutouts and the same pin, will try to post pix when I dig it out, John

reverse...this is a gold version, but the finish rates at about 50 percent..

Is this aword 100% flat at the back? It schould have a slight vaulting. Is it possible to get the measurements and weight? It looks like 1st pattern juncker.

Hi Skip: Thanks for posting yours. It gave me something to compare pictures of mines' to. It is interesting to study the different reverse assemblies and dies on these pieces. Chris seems to have done a good job in identifying the Juncker made pieces. Chris, would the Juncker pieces with the solid back have been made earlier than the scooped out versions?

Hi Rocket, my piece has a slight vaulting. I put a piece of paper across the back and can see the gap where the vaulting is.

Yes John, the solid back Junkers are the earliest of the zinc produced badges.
