    Who recognizes this IAB

    Hi guys,

The PAB posted by our friend Albert in this thread keeps haunting me:

    http://dev.wehrmacht-awards.com/foru...ad.php?t=69338

Just found this IAB that seems to feature an identical set-up. Problem is I don't know this IAB. Although the pics aren't that good the reverse contours are very distinctive and we should be able to match it to others featuring the same or a different set-up.

So this is where I would appreciate your assistance. Do any of you guys own such an IAB are recognize it's design.

    Thanks in advance

    KR
    Philippe

Hi Phillipe, I have seen this IAB here in Germany, and I've been mulling it over for a few weeks. If the seller and I cross paths this weekend I'll try and post pictures for you. It has that exact hardware set-up. Greg

          Hi Mads,

Thanks for the link, but judging by the zero replies it seems I wasn't the only one not recognizing this badge. The obverse sure looks like bronze but was that silver on the reverse?

Just like Alberts PAB nothing that sets of any alarmbells though. Just another badge that doesn't seem to have predecessors nor descendants.

            Hi Philippe,

It is bronze on the front yes, and on the reverse too...just my flash that makes it look silvery.

              Dear Philippe,

I don´t think Albert´s PAB setup and the one of this IAB are indeed comparable. The catch opens to the left on the IAB.
              Cheers, Frank

                Iab

Hi I am obviously new on here, and if I make any mistakes please let me know, which I am sure someone will. I was looking at the IAB that was posted by the other member, and the member was asking if anyone does recognize it? I too have one of similar looks, and it does not have any visible markings. I also have an unknown Luftwaffe one that I cannot find any markings on, and can't seem to find it anywhere either? It has a wide circle as compared to all other Luftwaffe badges I have seen, and the Eagle's claws grasping the swastika hang way much further down than any others I have seen? Both were purchased by my brother in-law from a local dealer. The dealer has had some good items, and some in question. So much so, that one I gave away to a potential buyer off of eBay - a side deal, and the swastika was suspect looking (know I wished I had not told him to keep it after discovering this site and becoming a member), and I guess it is called the GAB. But I would just love to get some thoughts on the ones mentioned from some other members. I do have pictures at least of the IAB and will post them now, and try to get them all on here later for comments. Here is the IAB first, since that is this thread. And I have a very small torpedo stick pin with the markings of either 8H or H8 also which I have never seen in any illustrations. Here are pictures of my IAB, any comments?
