Looks pretty old to me, so it could be wartime done. But honestly there is no way to know for sure.

Just because the catch is not the usual type found on this makers badge, doesn't always mean it couldn't have been from a short run production made with another jobbers catch . Its typical for this type to be mounted a lefty, and I agree with grame it appears old, has oxidation corrosion, which could always be faked, but in this case I think not. I think it could be an unusual variation , but feel the different catch isn't going to hurt the value , and since nobody knows for sure, for some it may be worth more , others may say worth somewhat less , so I guess until another pops up, its a crap shoot , and we will have to come back to this thread as more is discovered. I like it more than most screwed with badges posted here that have been repaired. . The catch to me does not appear replaced. This is just my personal opinion. I doubt we will all agree on this one .
