New GAB arrived today. Unknown maker?

    Hello all,

Today my new GAB arrived. I believe it's a zinc which has a very dark finish with some wear here and there. I was just having some trouble identifying the maker. From the hinge and catch it looked like an unknown maker # 7 but the eagle's head is a bit different than the # 7. I couldn't identify another maker which has this catch/hinge with this type of eagle's head so I am hoping someone here can help me on my way with this, in my eyes very nice looking, worn GAB.

    Thanks for all comments/help!

    All the best,
    Marcel

Thank you very much gentlemen. Time for me to hit the studybooks once more after identifying the wrong maker myself At least glad to see it's a good one!

              Hi Marcel

It looks a nice original. Quite distinctive catches on these. Yours actually looks like the catch plate sits above the sunken area, rather than in it. It would be nice to see a couple more pics of the catch area.

              best regards
              Graeme

Thank you all for the positive feedback!! I too like the eagles mean face a lot.

Graeme: I'll make some extra pics when there's sunlight again. Hard to get it right when dusk sets in now. The catchplate actually sits inside the sunken area, though not completely level I'd say. Perhaps sloppy work from the maker?

                  Best regards,
                  Marcel

                    Hi Marcel,

Nice original, and I can only agree with the others that its a Deumer-attributed GAB. Here is a link to the "original galleries" for you to compare (its a 1.20.4).

If it doesn't have a hinge and catch, I'm not interested......well, maybe a little

Thank you Tom! That's it indeed, the 1.20.4

Btw, was home from work very late so couldn't make daylight pics from the catch. Tomorow another 15 hour working day ahead so pics will follow only on monday.

                        Hey Marcel,

I have one identical with maybe just a little finish left. I love the eagle's head. Here's pics of mine.

                        Regards, Dave
