      Hi Brett,

Yes, the pin looks to be a replacement IMO.

If it doesn't have a hinge and catch, I'm not interested......well, maybe a little

These early PAB's are fantastic. I do have an observation how does the pin get replaced and why? Oddly enough I think I seen other Juncker PABs that have the straight pin, at Least I think I have. Does anyone else have a pin like this one On the Juncker? Those of you who have this type of badge are the pins weak?

I just did a quick search of Juncker PABs. I did see several that had straightened pins and the one mentioned an issue with it. Take a look at page 62 of the PAb Bible. I know we know more now than we ever did before but is there a chance Factory straight pin?

As Dennis has noted about the straight pins, I also have seen several examples as such. Honestly, I belive I've seen more of this sort of "replaced" pins on early Junckers than any other type of PAB. Maybe there is something to it?

Good observation Chet,i have mint example with pin that is not typical Juncker pin, have no idea how this even possible, also so many examples in very decent condition with replaced pins, very strange and hard to explain as Juncker PAB have very good quality and durability.
