        Hi Sven

The variant you show does not actually have a plate under the hinge, the hinge is one piece folded sheet metal.

ATTRIBUTED BADGES - Just a quick note Sven, to say that there are quite a lot of collectors that do not fully accept some of the connections being made to some of the makers. Many of the makers do not have 100% proof.

Great to see the nice badges posted

        regards

          Hi Graeme,

your are right about the plate under the hinge. Sorry I just had a look on the pictures and thought that there's a plate :-)

Furthermore you are absolutly right about the maker attribution of the badges. I know that there is not a proof for everything. This was the reason I wrote "attributed" because I thought this means that the badges are considered to be made by this maker, but there's no final proof for it.

One of the more sophisticated IABs would have to be the early FLL...

Here's a steel bronze by S.H.u.Co. Has a tougher feel to it compared to it's silver counterparts...

                    Hi Guys

                    Some great looking examples here...

I did not see one of these, so here is mine.

BTW...The word "attribute" has many definitions when used as a verb or a noun. In this cause I would agree with Sven's use of the word.

Attribute: to consider as made by the one indicated, but in the absence of conclusive proof.

Such as; to attribute a painting to an artist.

                    Best Regards, fischer

Very nice badges guys, just lovely.

Surprised not to see a Wurster pop up yet, so here is mine.

Looking forward to the "Zinker" appreciation thread. That is where all the variations are....and where all the fun is IMO

I have these to add. Going from top to bottom/left to right; looks like the first two are by the same maker and the last 4 from the same maker. However, I have never attributed them. If you could tell me who they are attributed to it would be greatly appreciated.

Your first two are Junckers, the last four are Mayers

                            Hi Sven and Fischer.

Thanks for educating me, I did not realise that the actual definition of attribute was as you have explained, without final or conclusive proof.
I must start using that word more

I guess I was trying to say that there are some members that do not accept some of the connections, and would not use "attribute", as this would indicate that they considered a particular badge to be made by a specific maker.

Great badges posted, and thanks for the lesson.

                            regards

Not an IAB collector myself, but I was waiting to see a nice Hymmen, and this one is stunning, Don!
