I'm pretty sure both are made by Frank and Reif or Mayer. The 2nd has the the flat "C" catch and the other has the "round wire" catch. About 80% finish left on both. Any finish lost looks mostly from "absorption", with minimal (if any) zinc pest.

Two Pforczheim design bagde, the first one is refferred to as Shickle by some collectors because of the different kind of catch and pin, the second one is for Mayer.
If you could tell the weight that would help determine which material the badges made, IMO from tombak.

            Hi guys,

The 2nd one is a good BH Mayer, like Hans says.

But I am not sure about the originality of the 1st one, looks suspicous to me. Seems to have weak detailing and a bit pitted. Can we see some more shots of the reverse hinge and catch area? I think it may reveal that we are looking at a fake.

If it doesn't have a hinge and catch, I'm not interested......well, maybe a little

                    Hi Dejan,

Thanks for the additional pics of the hardware. I still don't like what I see on this GAB, and the hardware pics only confirm my suspicions (to me anyway) that this is a fake IMO.
