Hi Andreas,

Well I know it is on GCA, I found it this morning. Unfortunately we are not allowed to post links to other forums, but a simple search and you will find it.

Perhaps Giel will see this thread and comment, after all it was his excellent detective work that linked Meybauer.

Hi Tom,

as you surely know alot of people are not allowed to take part in the mention forum by it's owner. So every infomation which is only there is useless for a thread which is here.

Since you are a dual moderator here and there i think it would be a great help for the community if you could post the information here for all. I think if you are active in that subject at the moment we don't need to wait for Giel to comment.

Btw i don't think he has a problem with the whom who writes down his informations.

I would love to, I really enjoy these discussions. But based on the disrespecting comment made in another recent thread about not being a serious collector, I will not partake in these discussions until an apology is made.

No doubt about it Daniel. Giel made a great connection to Meybauer with alot of evidence and information, it would be a ton of work to re-post all that information again.

that's the sad part of beeing a moderator in the internet

But as we don't have this information here and i'm quite sure that we have alot of readers interested in it, it would'nt be a boring re-post.

Imo it's worth it's work - isn't it?

In my opinion, yes it is well worth the work. And I certainly don't mind doing it, as long as there is mutual respect between collectors and all points of view will be heard without the need to degrade one group with asinine and egotistical comments.

The role of a moderator as I understand it is to first and foremost keep the threads on task and that there is no inappropriate comments. It is not necessary that a moderator has to make a post in every thread in my opinion. On the contrary, it is probably better that moderators step back a bit and let other collectors submit their opinions first IMO.

Well said and i agree

And that's why i think the open discussions and informations are important to the collectors' community. If a mod starts to post "it's maker XY" than alot of people start to take this as true because it was posted by a mod.

Therefore informations should be shared with those users to give them a fair chance to built their own opinions.

Hi Andreas,

In the old days, I think collectors used to take people's word for truth such as dealers. But now, there is so much information at collectors fingertips, from many different sources that they can review all the information and form their own conclusions. I don't know any collectors these days that just listen to 1 dealer or 1 moderator, they take information from many sources.

Moderators have been calling these IABs Meybauers for years now, long before I came along as a moderator here in the Heer badges. And rightly so, there is a wealth of evidence and information to link them to Meybauer.

That is what is so fun about this hobby, there is so much to learn, and still so much to figure out.

For the record:-

My comment to Basti was to reassure him that serious collectors would not laugh at him. That was not discounting you as a serious collector. It was just pointing out that serious collectors have time for his views. I never had you in my thoughts. How you interpreted it so differently baffles me.

In the thread that you mention, I have already explained this, and tried to explain in a PM to you. So I am astounded that you still hold your misinterpreted view.
