Two IABs

I know the one on the left is a Zinc Mayer, I believe it to be a good one. The one on the right looks good to me, but I cant remember which one it is, I swear I have seen it pop up on the forums, but cant remember the maker.

To me it looks like an unmarked Deschler, a really nice design, especially the talons.

Here is one for you to compare, this one has a different hinge to yours.

From my pics alone I did not notice just how weird the feet on the eagle looked
From the comparisons I would say it is a good one. From the other examples shown I suppose this makers IABs hold their finish well.

I like the designs on both. Think I will go for this pair for sure. Thanks for the help in identifying that one.

would you please ad the information why you use the a real maker name as nickname for this badge instead of it's former nickname to your post so that the community can follow your thoughts. Otherwise it's confusing for members who use the search function to gather more informations.

I just did a search for "Meybauer IAB" and the first 10 or so results all feature this exact IAB, so there should be no confusion for collectors to search for this exact type of badge.

I think Giel made the connection to Meybauer about 2 years ago, so I don't even remember what the nickname was before then, maybe "cutout" or "diamond" or "slim stalk".

Yes it was diamond cut-out and missing leaf.

For a collector who likes to know the WHY there is no information, so i think a little more answer would be helpfull for every new collector since no thread feature how the connection was made.

So please give as some more informations on the why. As you agree it seems you know more.

Hi Andreas,

Giel's original connection thread was March 2010, so alot longer than when it was announced on GCA in that newsletter you reference. Giel might have made a similar thread here on WAF back then as well.
