Another PAB been hanging around for years I never researced authenticity on. Hinge looks slightly different than one on this site. Heavy piece. Note there is a very weak wernstein maker mark just above and partially covered by the clasp in addition to the deep one on the side of badge. Material of entire badge including pin and clasp is non magnetic. Opinions? or

Hi Bob,
I'm afraid this one's not good... see this thread for its "brother." http://dev.wehrmacht-awards.com/foru...=Wernstein+PAB
Your Aurich in the other post, on the other hand, is a beauty!
Regards,
Greg

Hi Guys,
How about this bronze Wernstein? I received it with other items in a trade a couple years back. I don't collect Tank Badges, but I held onto this one - I really like the color of it. Is it a good Wernstein? I see the hinge is slightly different on mine.

Dear Frank,
I reached that conclusion mainly by comparing PAB wernstein set-ups with the IAB's from that maker.
On the IAB's you'll encounter this set-up in combination with a soldered on catch and high quality finish. I think it's save to assume that soldered on hardware preceded the use of big catchplates.
