    Hi Eddie,

Thanks for the additional pics of the hardware. Not the best as you say, but enough to start giving us some clues I think.

The general appearance of the reverse of this GAB reminds me very much of the Hobacher LW flak badges which I will post (from Eric Stahl's excellent collection). The semi-hollow design is very similar to this GAB, as well as the type of finish used.

Also notice that this GAB is a "vienna design", also like the Hobacher GABs. The reverse hardware of this badge is also a good match to the hinge and catch used on the typical Hobacher GABs (Type 1.7.4 in Heukemes GAB book).

I wonder if we are looking at another design evolution of the Hobacher GAB here.....

If it doesn't have a hinge and catch, I'm not interested......well, maybe a little

Hi Tom,thanks again for your comment and Flak example to compare, there is many good points on this GAB making me believe that this is original badge, obviously late war production,IMO the reason why not so many have been seen is due this badge being late war produced in super low quantity perhaps quick special order ?

will take much more pictures tomorrow in a day light and would be great to discuss this stranger more.

      kind regards,

      Eddie

Hi Kenneth mostly internet dealer sites, friends and e stand,if i see someone post something nice and mint and i dont have that i always ask people if they want to sell it every other great badge posted for opinions here is going to e stand,in many cases badges never reach that table since many people is doing this,i find it one of the most effective ways to get something nice.

i hope this helps but i think you already know all this.

        kind regards,

        Eddie
