Does anybody know which maker uses these catches? It would help me solve some riddles. Badge was sold by Detlev last update. Very nice!

Dear Frank,
I only have them on file in silver and bronze both hollow and with that strange set-up. I don't know of any other variants. Anyway it's a unique design and no match to any of the known makers. Very rare too IMO. The easiest way to immediately spot them from the obverse are the two little stripes on top of the rock.
Am I mistaken in believing that there exists a hollow GAB's with that same reverse hardware?
I missed Detlev's update and saw the one you posted too. Don maybe you would be so kind to post some good detailed scans/pics in this thread once it arrives.

Hi guys,
Here are the details of what I have found out so far. We are looking for a maker that produced some quite interesting badges.
I have with the absolutely same unique catch:
-Type 1 wound badge black ("Legion Condor style") and although this is obviously an early badge (latest 1940,1941) it is made of zinc! Also unique: the badge is finished on the obverse only, the reverse is plain zinc.
-a very nicely made GAB (you paid good attention Philippe) with polished swastika and highlights, of the very unique style with cut out eagle´s wings.
So if anybody has any badge that has this same unique catch with a maker´s mark, by all means, let me know!Cheers, Frank

Dear Frank
Very very interesting!
At first I thought why is he posting that WB but than I noticed the catch plate . How did they get it in there?
Besides the fact that they all share the same reverse hardware all these badges also share a unique design. My first tought was that these were made by one of the bigger manufacturers that was capable of designing his own badges. But than again this isn't very likely since there are so few of these arround.
Frank am I correct in assuming that the GAB is also made out of zinc, just like the PAB & WB. If that is the fact one would wonder were the buntmetall badges of this maker are. Also why were these early designs of the WB and GAB (at least I consider them early designs) made in zinc?
I would also like to know if anybody recognizes these designs in one of their badges but maybe with an other set-up

Philippe, I'll post them just as soon as it arrives. I think I've seen the same setup on IABs before but not GABs.
Thanks
