It's a nice group but it's not the CCC that makes it special it's the Finnish award. The 122 Inf.Div. was not part of the 20 Gebirgs Armee and had nothing to do with their countrymen further North. It was transferred to Southern Finland in the summer of 1944 to help the Finns counter the Soviet summer offensive, It returned to continent when the Finns made peace with the Soviets in eraly Sept. and so was only in Finland for a few months. To find a Finnish award to an officer of this division is really quite rare indeed.

As for the CCC grade, i'm with Tom, i don't for a second believe he was awarded anything other than a bronze.
Collecting German award documents, other paperwork and photos relating to Norway and Finland.

      Hi Simon
On the CCC, I was just hoping and pulling for it The finish on those 57s sure is bright.

I figured the Finnish Cross would catch you and Hans N s interest.

Very nice info, you never cease to amaze me on Divisional histories in WW2.

I just found it, I have to bargain for it first.

Tom the book is easy and efficient to use, these types of books really save you time when you are on the spot.

Excellent grouping with a very nice CCC. The '57 ribbon bar is a nice addition, funny thing is I was thinking about finding one for my collection just before I came on here tonight. Good luck with the deal.
