    Hollow rifle IAB ?

Hi guys, I'm a bit confused on this one, looks like the one in Sacha Weber's book on page 54 but with another pinsetup, personally I like the badge and I can't see anything that screams fake, what do you think ? nice unknown maker or clever fake. ?

    regards Den

It looks like the wing has taken a hit going off on the damage, also on the reverse you can see the crack

                Hi Den

I really like the design of these, much better looking eagle than the usual "vienna" design. Not so common, but they do show up occasionally with variations in hardware.
Yours looks to have the hinge the badge was designed for, it fits the hinge guide, but the round catch plate looks sadly out of place. Most of the variants I have seen have a barrel hinge and this round catch plate.

In my records I refer to this as the vienna style hollow rifle.

                cheers
                Graeme

                  Hi Den,

Is this in your collection? If so, can you take a shot of the hinge with the pin in the open position?

I don't like the bend and shape of the tension foot, reminds me of the "S" curve that Staegemeir likes to do.

                  Tom
If it doesn't have a hinge and catch, I'm not interested......well, maybe a little

Hi Tom, I passed on it because of the crack.

Good thing Den, I am quite certain it was a Staegemeir Reproduction. Here is a similar one of his:

Good eyes and a good call Tom, they both shows the same "flaws". There is no question about it being a Hero product.

                              damn... it fooled me
never seen this hero product before, but there are no questions left.
good thing that crack is a giveaway.

                              thanks Tom
