    Hi,

From these pictures I have the following comments:

#3 Panzer - the acorn is attached to the wrong area of the cord (should be at the bottom of the lanyard) and is way to big for normal shooting lanyards. Not sure if this is some unique variation or a put together, probably the latter. Heer cords were all silver. Higher grades were silver with gold slides. There were no all gold cords.

#4 Heer - from the pictures it appears that the shield is gold colored. This version of the shield did not come in gold color. This, which is a 2nd pattern shield, should be in silver and is for grades 1-4 (grades 1-4 were in silver and had the smooth edge, i.e. the wreath was inside a border, grades 5-8 were also silver and the edge followed the wreath, i.e. the wreath did not have a border, grades 9-12 were gilt and the edge followed the wreath, wreath did not have a border)

#5 Luftwaffe - Luftwaffe shield affixed to Heer cord, a put together.

        From this picture:

        #3 too many loops (postwar)
#4 Wrong construction fro gold sliders and too many loops (post war)

#8 appears green? Should be silver
#9 appears to have acorns pinned to rosette, no such Third Reich lanyard existed.

          Hi Ken,

I hope you can understand my postings...hard to refer to if the pictures don't show up in the reply thread.

From this enlarged picture you have:

          1) As mentioend in my previous thread, a luft shield applied to a Heer lanyard

          2) Good luftwaffe shield, I am rusty on my grades of Luft lanyards but it is eother a grade 1 or 5. I believe this is a 5 if it had silver flecks in the lanyard

          3) Nice Heer grade 5

          4) Nice Heer grade 3

Sorry about the others. If you are interested in selling the grade 5 and 3 let me know as my son and I collect Heer lanyards.
