    Gwl Ccc

    Hi guys,

Here is a GWL CCC that recently sold on the e-stand. Can I have some opinions as to the grade of this clasp, Bronze or Gold?

    Thanks guys.

If it doesn't have a hinge and catch, I'm not interested......well, maybe a little

I would say bronze. What say you?

Thanks Calvin. I am going to hold my opinion until we get a few others, so hopefully the answers will be unbiased.

            Thanks guys.

It looks gold to me. Then again, I don't collect these so what the hell do I know?

                    Hi guys,

Thanks for the replies, I appreciate it. There is no doubt for me that this GWL is a bronze clasp. The scans I took are a perfect representation of the color of the finish. Many of the Ludenscheid based makers used a bright bronze finish on their clasps, specifically F&BL, H&CL & S&L. Even some FLLs have a very bright finish and I am certain GWL also followed suite and used a brighter bronze finish. Here are a few pics to compare of an F&BL, H&CL & S&L CCCs in bronze.

                    Thanks guys.

First up is an F&BL in Bronze

                            Hi Bog,

Sure, but I thought you had the book? Maybe not, my mistake. Here you go. Its an S&L type 1.16.6 with integral backplate, shown on page 227. Absolutely mint

                              Cheers Tom.

Absolutely right! And useally were inseparable but alas not today

So am i right in thinking a FEC WE .A.G.M.u.k Gablonz In bronze would not likely have this brighter bronze finish?
