Ok, here we go:
-RSS, very nice original, one of the rarer iab in bronze.
-F&R IAB, good
-FCL IAB, STUNNING example, very nice badge!!
-Unknown maker GAB is good as well
-Assmann GAB is kopied from an other unknown maker GAB.
-PAB is a fake based on the Aurich design. Looks like an old fake, never saw something like it.
-Army flaks: left one is a post war Souval and the other one is just crap.Kind regards,
Giel

The set up on the #12 GAB is so distinctive, I find it hard to believe that it is a copy.
Ron, could you take a close up of that catch?Kind regards,
Giel

Hi Giel
I am sure I have seen the horizontal bubbles on this style before, so I don't have an issue with that.
You and I would not stamp a perfectly good badge, but others have in the past, possibly in the hope of pushing the value up. (There was a time when it was only cool to collect marked badges.)
cheers
Graeme

About the GAB, I will withdraw my words. The applying of the finish as well as the finish itself are very typical for this maker. The Assmann mark fooled me somehow together with the condition of this badge.
Is there any chance you can see the copper coating popping out of the silver finish?Kind regards,
Giel

Hi guys,
Agree with everything that has been said. Giel, I must admit that I thought the same thing about the bubbled finish, look exactly like the fake in Frank's book, so i also quickly condemned the badge in my head although the die characteristics didn't match up. After Graeme's comments, I went back and looked at Unknown Maker #12 and the dies do appear to match. If you look at page 304, you can see similar bubbling of the finish on the swastika, so must be a common occurrence on these original GABs by this maker. Also note the extra-long tension foot of the pin.

Hi Ron,
The consensus is that it is a definate original GAB, but with a fake maker mark, probably added post war to increase value. Assmann GABs were different and even the shape of the maker mark is wrong for an Assmann.
