    How about: Gotz von Berlichingen?

Well your NOT a good Negotiator...You pretty well sealed your fate with the offer of $1500 when MAYBE $400-500 MIGHT have gotten it.Now they will have the stuff for a while more till the next sale and the Next guy comes along.

It's a shame that the photos can't be included in the group. Perhaps the ex-wife would settle for copies and you keep the originals. Photos of everything in the group would be your next move, if they're willing, then laying down $2,500.00 cash may pursuade them. There's still hope. Maybe the guy is pushing hard at 3K, and would really be willing to let you have it at 2.5K. Money does things that negotiating lacks.

            Yes

Money scares people sometimes...puts them off figuring if he is willing to offer $1500 and Then MAYBE he will bite at $3k most likely they would have found an excuse to back at at $3k then they will never trust anyone to let them know what the stuff is worth,

Then again its not the Vet himself selling the stuff so you may be showing the stuff once you get it here and it may not be good.

Of course I'm speaking from personal experience only when it comes to closing a private deal. I run ads in the local paper and deal with vets and children of vets quite often. When I see emotional instability arise in potential sellers, I try and throw out a figure that's reasonable. And, I've have had good luck in closing deals by being deliberate and candid. I offer a one-time price for what they have, and ask if there is anyone standing in the way of closing the deal right then. In the long run they call me to sell, so I expect to leave with the goods. I know things are vastly different dealing with others whose last thoughts are selling their family's treasures. Only you know the situation, and your chances, if any, to obtaining what you set out to buy from them. I also know through dealing with people, we learn from the mistakes we make. And, we improve. Sometimes the only thing we can do is ask if they wouldn't mind if we check back later to see if they still feel the same as before. Leaving with an open door is better than leaving with a closed one. The prices of these collectibles are always rising. Some day their 3K may be reasonable.

                Hello guys...

                I appreciate the help...

I found a website that has what I believe is the same cuff title that I saw.

The writing is so fancy... I could not make it out.

The cuff title appears to be a Gross Deutchland cuff after all!

The cuff I saw... had silver/bullion thread top and bottom.

Hi Robert, before you buy one of these get expert help from the forum. They are widely faked.

                  Cheers, Ade.

                      Thanks,

Yes, what isn't these days? Anymore, everything I look at I approach with a suspicious eye. I've seen some of the RO/AG's that the African Hero is producing lately and shake my head. And, if they can be faked this well, cloth items are much more deceptive. I was just schooled on shooting lanyards, and was glad I didn't buy any at the SOS. Every cloth item I bought at the show I asked George Peterson to peek at first. I was happily reassured when I did.

                      Thank you,
                      Robert

As you might have read there is a special german letter for two 'ss' in a row which is very similair to a capital B, so instead of writing Gross its written GroB (unfortunately I dont have a german keyboard so I can show it). Hope this makes sense.

Did the documents actually refer to the number? I thought they were designated as I. Stufe, II. Stufe and so forth.

Actually, here is one that is currently for sale on the estand for comparison. I guess it does have the 25 when it mentions the days of combat.

Try this Web Site for Alt Key symbols. It will help you with words like Über and Groß....
