Silven,
Both are good badges. Does the buntmetal F&R/B.H. Mayer have some pits on the obverse? I see what appear to be tiny black dots in various places. You may want to address the beginings of zincpest on the massive zinc Wurster.
is that a big problem, the zinc pest ,could it be restored
it have some tiny spots.
i have a option to buy these badges and for a nice price, but if the zincpest will eat the pab.
Silven,
Apply a coat of vaseline to the entire badge and leave it on for twenty-four hours. Then wipe it off with a soft cloth. This will make the badge look 100% better. You can apply it with a soft toothbrush or a Q-tip. Gently brush or dab the spots that show the worst effects of the zincpest. Good luck!
I think the hinge/pin/catch on the Wurster might have been repaired. Hard to tell from these shots and this maker used a ton of solder anyways. Still, two nice original badges for sure.
here,s a new one for my collection.
for me this is also a nice badge.there is a maker mark but i have no idea wich one.
any problems with this badge.i,m not going to clean this badge
