I have followed this loosely, but attached is pics of a flatback PAB with the L/10 mark on it. Some say the Flatback PAB is related to this GAB somehow. (PAB pics are from Mike 12250)

Hi Tom, guys,
Flatback PABs are related to this type of GABs because of the exactly the same "hand finishing" method used on these badges. Also L/10 marked IAB's are sharing the same characteristic, but i have to say that I don't own even one L/10 IAB (so my observations are based on pictures only), but i hope to receive at least one soon, so i will take my own pictures and compare all 3 badges together. At this point i'm rather convinced that all these badges will match with each other. However it is my personal opinion only and i'm not asking anyone to believe in this.
I'm sorry for being late on this thread, but i'm not spending that much time on the forum as i used to...
I do not think Robert's theory holds water. Let me show you why. Of course, there is this ONE L/10 marked Flatback PAB. We have learned in the past that there are a lot of inexplicable markings, possibly related to distribution relationships between the makers. Of course, even this one L/10 marked example would have brought Deschler into the circle of "most likely makers" for the Flatback PAB. So far, I fully agree. Until the first L/10 marked GAB with:
a) a unique design
b) typical, textbook Deschler setup
c) typical Deschler mark on the pin, like done on some of their IABs
came along. It was shown on the forum some weeks ago with fairly good pics. I was able to acquire this badge in the meantime with the help of master3477 (Sven).
There is no doubt this badge is original and sports a L/10 marked Deschler setup. No GAB of the type that started this thread (unknown maker #11):
a) was ever found with a L/10 mark
b) was ever found with a Deschler type setup used on their IABs.
First, some typical Deschler IABs. Note the setup (hinge and catch) on this one (Philippe's collection):
