No problem Frank - there is no rush - these questions were waiting +60 years to be answered I’m positive they can wait little more...

@my Deschler qualification - of course i would like to ride this horse with one L/10 marked PAB as long as i can (what i really like about this PAB? Maker mark is on the badge base metal and is looking absolutely period original to me). Also, as i said before i hope to see real L/10 marked IAB soon and I really hope to add something about "hand finishing" marks known to us from "flat backs" because you can see them in some areas on the L/10 marked IABs too - however I’m relying on the low quality pictures only so my assumption could be totally wrong here. That's it; i don't have any more cards in my sleeves.

I have a L/10 on pin marked Deschler IAB and should be able to make some pics of the mark tomorrow. It has a variant oval hinge though, so I cannot compare these to find the lines. Philippe will have to do that with his example with the classic hinge.

    Right now, sleeping time.

      Frank,

Besides the makermark on the pin, are there anything else that points in the direction that Deschler made this type of GAB?

I personally find it a bit strange that just because a badge is mm******180;d on the pin the whole design automatically is that maker. At least it sounds like it to me at the moment. Besides this type of hardware can be found on other makers badges as well (L/10 GAB******180;s).

Take the L/18 IAB******180;s to mention one maker with the same type of pinmarkings which has been found on 2 different IAB designs.

I find it strange that we haven******180;t seen any GAB or IAB for that matter (if looking in both these cases) with a mm on the actual badge it self.

Or am i just pedling in the dark here?
      Regards
      Hans N

        Hi Hans,
I'm no Frank, but I would like to answer to this question if you don't mind. If anyone with L/10 IAB and the same type of hinge as on the GAB posted by Frank will check tool marks on the IAB hinge and these tool marks will be identical with marks on the Franks GAB hinge, then this will nail Franks GAB to Deschler for good IMO. There will be no more “if”, “but” and etc…
And I forgot to add that this will totally blow away any my speculations about Flatbacks being Deschler and I will "shut up" for good, but first show me those tool marks people…
