I remembered that on this website, there was a page devoted to this award showing a wartime photo of a recipient (Hpstuf in the Wiking Div.) as well as the small booklet assigned to it but I can't find it again. Is it normal ?
There was a small one page write up, now removed, but it was mainly about the Germanische Leistungsrune Profüngsbuch, not the award itself. The photgraphs of the man did not show the award.
The recipient was a German National from Frankfurt am Main, a former 'Germania', 'Wiking' and Weapons Training School Officer.
He was awarded the Germanische Leistungsrune in Silver in October 1944 after testing for it at the SS Sports Centre in Prag.
He survived the war but died soon after being released from a WSS internment camp in 1948.

Many thanks Steve
BTW, the badge shown at the very begiining of this thread is a copy. Originals are never hallmarked with the RZM stamp. There is seemingly a recipient name on the reverse. Funny, I read Lothar Hartung. You agree ? Lothar Hartung is a German author who wrote several books about WWII German awards.

Yes I totally agree, the badge is a copy, in fact my guess is it's a copy of a copy, meaning I would guess it's an east european copy of the well known 60's US copy 'RZM' badge that came in two sizes for some reason.
Maybe we should not call it a copy, as you mention I don't believe there ever was an RZM marked badge, at least to my own knowledge no evidence has surfaced since the war to support this.

Gentlemen,
There are two existing types of Germanische Leistungsrune that I know off. One has the wider angle on the arms of the mobile swastika while the otehr one has shorter angles.
Both of these types of badges do not have any marking what so ever on the reverse.
There are also repros with no markings and have the runes attached by pins but the catch, hinge and pin are incorrect.
I remember communicating with Mr. Steve Langemarck a while back about these two types of badges. I have one currently listed in my web site.

Kind regards

Hi Rene,
Good to see you around. (Langemarck was actually the name of my first website, only chosen as it was the favourite cufftitle in my collection at the time)
You picture a superb verion of the badge with the thinnner sunwheel formerly in our mutual friend's collection from Scandinavia.
Although there are mistakes in the annotion of the Militaria Advisor article, both types are original. (IMHO..lol, seems like a bloody prerequiste in our hobby nowadays!)
