There is a little vaseline in some of the crevices I was not able to wipe out.

Jeff, IMO you have absolutely original badge here with the same hardware features as Phil's and Skip's PAB's.

                      Hi Jeff,

Textbook (at least in my book) all the way.

What your pics clearly show is that typical "cooked" finish as Frank used to call it. Commonly encountered e.g. on bronze Schwerin U-boat clasps and bronze JFS IAB's. This is a feature all doubtfree GB's seem to have in common.

Ok we now have 3 of them (most likely 4 because Bob's silver version stands a good chance of being identical). And one variant being Larry's badge.

When I look at my files I find many more variants then "textbook" badges in collections so I think it's time we start focussing on these badges.

I won't post any variants myself but gladly share my thoughts on anything that gets posted in this thread as long as the quality of the pics allows it.

Yes, now the big fun starts. Any badges that are different from the already shown ones, but still believable?
                        Cheers, Frank

First Frank, let me say that i really don't feel comfortable with Larry's badge...Different hinge, different pin, different catch to start with it...

Jeff one more question because i can't see it on your pics. Could you please check the badge its outer rim, and see if you can find a "double rim" (cfr pic below)

On the badges I saw I always found this feature. On some it goes all the way arround on others it's only visible on certain parts of the rim.

Not sure if this is a 100% reliable differentator between good and bad at this moment but it for sure is something I want to keep in mind.
