          Dear Anthony,

Well what an incredible coincidence. The last couple of days I have only been studying these type of PAB's after bringing back a Bronze 50 from Illingen.

Still had a skype meeting planned with Frank this evening to discuss a few details that would enable us to distinguish between the good and the bad because there are very good copies arround and not that much knowledge.

IMO your bronze 25 is one of the rare originals but at the same time based upon what we were able to figure out not a brother of the silver one. That most likely was made by another maker. I'll share some more thoughts on the subject later.

Looking forward to continue this thread this evening when I will have acces to my pics. Lets try to make this a real reference thread for rivetted numbered PAB's with as many collectors participating as possible

Here is a solid version of the jfs 25 badge I've encounterd. It looks ok, but it's to miny for my taste. The tank is sperate and the number seems to look ok, but there is something gnawing in the back of my head.

Is it a fake or a minty real one?

It's a fake and didn't really belong in this thread.

                  Hi Guys,

As promised here is the bronze 50 I brought back from Illingen.

This is a 100% brother of the one that started this thread.

Both Frank and I came to the conclusion that there exist two types of original "riveted" grade II and III PAB's and the differences would lead us to conclude that most likely two different makers were involved. One off the makers is known but this has to stay a secret untill the PAB book gets published.

Both types are faked and some of these fakes are very good. At this moment we think we are able to differentiate between the good and the bad but taken in to account that these are far from common badges we could do with all the reference material we can get our hands on.

So rather then just writting a long essay, if you have any riveted PAB's in your collection please post them in the thread and we can take it from there.

                      Hi dear Anthony and all,

till yesterday this kind of semihollow type was not seen well in collection's world.

Sure is very different from the silver classic PAB 25 compared before ( sure original one) poor details, personally I considered not original these kind of types, as normal opinion were........

but I am looking forward for any good news around it !!!

                        Dear Ivan,

Just to make sure, what is the "classic 25" for you, the silver one Anthony posted which IMO is the same as the one I featured in this thread

                        http://dev.wehrmacht-awards.com/foru...d.php?t=156453

or are you refering to another badge?

If this is the case then am I correct in believing that for you there is only one original riveted PAB (with the rivets going all the way through that is, not the G.B)

Do you or anybody else have pictures of rivetted PAB's that are considered copies?

                        Many thanks in advance.

                          Hi Guys,

Philippe, Your Bronze 50 and my Bronze 25 are a match for each other, identical etc

The Silver I have posted does not match the Bronze 25/50 correct, but matches the Silver you have listed in another thread. I have reinspected the silver badge and there are so many important shear and file marks on it, it is also heavily silver plated, I have no problems with it.

                          Regards,

                          Anthony

                            Morning Anthony,

Well we still need to wait for Ivan's reply but I'm rather confident that he doesn't have a problem with the silver PAB only with the Bronze grades we posted. Correct Ivan?

Somehow I expected the complete lack of participation in this thread, the knowledge simply isn't there.

                              Dear Philippe,

I guess to that Ivan means the Bronze badges that we have, so all we can do is wait and see what he says. There must be other collectors that have this badge, if you do could you please post it so we can gather some info on them together, thanks in advance.

                              Regards,

                              Anthony
