    Hi Dan,

Did you ever try to rub the silver one a little with a soft eraser. Try the headlamps or left track area and please tell us which color comes peeping through.

      Hi Dan,

Well I think we solved the riddle of you silver leightweight Assmann. It isn't a zinker but most definitely a Cupal badge.

Jeff was so kind to send me pics of his example. Notice the "nipple" on the gun, most likely from the same production run as yours

Detail of the typical Cupal texture.

So that leaves us with your lightweight bronze zinker.

Any more leightweight zinkers out their?

I think you guys are right about my silver being made of cupal..when I look at the reverse of the badge I can see some copper behind the gun barrell and behind the glacis plate! Guess I never looked at this badge close enough Still leaves the bronze badge though

By any chance could you tell us the side wall thickness on your bronze badge? For example from this area...

Thanks Dan. I got 0.75 mm. So the thickness of the material is identical...the question is, where the 5 grams disappeared then?...It would be interesting if someone could post weight measurements from his cut out grass Assmann just to show us how much lighter this badge is without the grass…
