I think Philippe would say: "close but no sigar"

This badge isn't good imo, just compare the hinge and pin with an original.
            Kind regards,
            Giel

I believe Giel is on the right track......I have an original GAB50 with the same maker......My pin and hinge are different......I'm also a little concerned with the lack of detail on the obverse side and what appears to be pocker-type marks on the reverse of the eagle.....Bodes

                  Hi Bill,

This indeed is a copy. As far as I know these can be traced back to the seventies. You will find them in any "old" German collection all directly aquired from the veteran that lived a bit further down the street.

The original looks like this and there are no exceptions.

                          Hi,

I'm late to the thread but I can add that an easy way to pick these fakes is the presence of a pair of dimples around the rivets (about 170 degree apart), probably formed by the fake riveting device. The are very apparent on the top left rivet on Bill's friend's example and just apparent on the top right rivet.

                          Regards
                          Mike
