    Robert,

I don******180;t think we are "approving" anything yet. Just looking a bit closer.

Great that Alans sending Phil the badge to look at. That way we will have a better idea of how to class these. Maybe it really is just an improved cutter.

        Al,

Send the badge to me and I'll take it over to Germany with me and Skippy, Phil and Frank can have a closer in hand inspection if you like mate ?

Concerning the packet, I've seen several of these on the market with no badge, in fact pretty much all the packets I have seen come without the badge, mine came with another maker of no relation at all to this maker.

There are points to note in this designation, like the K and H which aren't like you more commonly encountered classic fraktur which in it's many guises on a multitude of award packets in all sizes has the basic traits of being one in the same.

This one differs and the 'scrawl' fakes emulate this style to more of a degree than any other really. But, this is an accepted one of a many variations in letters example (there are many !!) and is found on KVK packets to other examples, for example the K in this exact form is used in the word Klasse on the odd EK packet.

Silber, this is your classic fraktur and it's not uncommon to see the mix match use in a classification.

The paper, it's not 'kraft' paper or like any other fake packet paper but has all the comparitive qualities of a period example.

The only premise assessment for judgement in my mind is to get the packet ink and paper age tested for a period like that has been done in the Hansen-Hausen legacy.

I like it, but thats a sole opinion.
