    Pab, Aws

I posted this PAB on the cases and packets forum, with its issue packet.

It could be a bad one, is it?

Allan, I saw this in the packages forum and at that time felt it was the AWS42 "cutter fake" Hard to figure since the packet matches the badge and the packet has been accepted as good. Now with the close up of the catch I still think this is a bad one. Are the edges of the badge sharp to the touch? Does the badge have a slick feeling to the touch? Considering the packet being good I am a bit confused.

                Hi Chet,

The edges feel smooth, not sharp at all. Badge feels 'dry' if you know what I mean.

                Strange.

It doesn't exhibit the correct crimp at the catch one normally associates with a good one.

Its not hard to marry a good bag and a bad badge. Seen that before.

That said, at least its not the cutter fake. Don´t throw it in the bin yet Alan.

                          Not really Alan.

If you******180;ve just bought this and have a right of return then send it back and get your money back.
If its yours now for indefinatly then I would keep hold of it for a while. If its not sharp its not the cutter, that is if they have******180;nt corrected that fault yet.

You might like to measure height and width and give us a weight and we can compare with other examples
Oh, and can you do us a closeup of that slightly strange looking hinge?

                            Hi Allan,
I’m sorry but posted by you badge absolutely stays no chance in my eyes. As guys already pointed out, catch is lacking crimp marks, but overall depth of details known to me from the original AWS examples is missing here as well.

                              Allan,
I had one these before I knew better. It was not the "cutter" but looked very much like yours especialy the catch. It felt "greasey", that is what I meant by "slick" in my first post. It was on the heavy side because it had to have had some lead in it as it bent when pressure was applied. I would advise you NOT to try and bend yours. I only did it as I was convinced mine was indeed bad. This type of fake is all over the place. I know of two maybe three dealers who have one of these listed presently. If you want textbook your example will not make the grade. Like Skip, I would return it if I had the oppertunity.
