Yes, nothing unusual here. The same situation was with members of The network of the Gablonz Industries…

This mystery surrounding this maker mark has since been completely solved by member Basti, and was for Weidmann instead of Wernstein. A 40 year mystery cleaned up by some great and thorough detective work.

Regarding your question on the PAB 50, Weidmann is not a known maker of the # PABs, but please post pics of your badge and we can have a good discussion on it.

              Hi,

like Tom says Wiedmann (aka ÜÜ) is not a known maker of the Numbered PAB´s. Some pics of it would be interesting but i notice that your not a Associated Member. If you need help posting them contact me or Tom for assitance with pics.
              Regards
              Hans N

Don´t throw away your fake WB´s! Get in touch with me.
I collect them for reference purposes for the benefit of the hobby (for the right "fake" price of course).

Hey brit who u calling a clown, we are now discussing the MM not the badge, and that thread should not have been shut down until, matters were finished up, ,and it should still be open for all oppinions, especially as there was contraversy about the (uu)(W) marks

Do not bother to post the maker mark if it comes from the badge that you posted in the other thread. I agree with all of the other comments on that thread, that badge is a reproduction. There can be nothing added to that discussion, regardless of what maker mark is on it. Do not waste your time and move on to other examples.

Well yes and no, WB stands for Wound Badges. Last time i looked a PAB was a PAB.

O.K so i made a mistake over the initials, i understood WB to stand for wehrmacht badges, so i thought you might have been interested in seeing the pab50, but now that i am aware, there is a fake ww1 wound badge which i bought, it was posted on a thread for me by a good member, for oppinions, under a thread named,, ww1 wound badge the photo of it is not good, but if you want a closer inspection i can send it
thanks for the pm on the pab50, but i think you guys should respect new collectors who might buy items and not realise even the names of same, not to mention if they are copies, fakes, real, or whatever, this is a huge field, and there is so much to know.

And you have taken the first step by becoming a member here. Look, listen, study, and learn before you buy.

Good advice. Sometimes we get caught up in our own lingo that some new collectors might need a tranlator
