...Brian, you of all people who needs PROOF on every statement, don't you see that your badge is NOT the same as the one in the Schickle cataloge?
I do not need to post mine, it's about YOUR badge, which isn't the oneas you like to believe everybody.
Every attempt you make to convince the forum will give them the opportunity to see with what an expert we are dealing with.
So there will be no thread on my badge, ...go on and try to save yours...

Bob thanks for sharing. I placed your photo next to mine just to see. Obviously our photos were taken at slightly different angles and with different lighting so there can never be a 100 percent match. Yours may have been leaning left a bit, mine a little right when the photo was taken etc.
I think you get the point. Nevertheless this is how the photos turned out.Attached FilesLast edited by AZartman; 12-19-2005, 04:52 PM.

The detailing in the wreath of Bob's badge is more pronounced. The cross-graining in the acorns is stronger. I don't think that lighting is the variable in that detail. And not a function of wear. I would say different badges.... close, but different.

AZ, nice image work! I'd love to see you work your PC magic on reverse images, too, just for the heck of it."You can check out any time you like ..... But you can never leave....."

I had posted obverse and verso photos, of this badge, on the old thread, noted on page one of this thread. Please check that out as I would love to see the differences and similarities of the reverses.

While I cannot help out on the badge itself in this interesting topic maybe I can help about the silver..Silver is cheap and has been for many years. It is also easy to work with.
Please make sure the jeweler can test well enough to distinguish between 800 silver and 925 [sterling]. It is very easy to purchase 925 silver for manufacturing but 800 is hard for the craftsmen to get and there is really no reason for it to be produced with the price of sterling so low. Many reproduction artists work in 925 and just stamp it with 800,825,835,900.. The closer the contents are the harder it is to distinguish between them..
A very good jeweler should be able to prove the difference between to 800 and the commonly sold 925.., good luck. . , G.

That is good to know. I'll do my best.
Thanks
