And what you have all been waiting for: the mark. Sorry for the quality of the pics but I'm no Robert of Romeoville.

        Hi Don

Like I wrote you in my e-mail for me the mm on this badge is original to the badge.

Furthermore It's my believe that this badge came out of the same die than the Flatback PAB's

On the obverse you'll find the waste material sitting between the right swas arm and the wing but more important the cut-out on this badge is a 100% match to the one found on the flatbacks. Slightly angled cut under the gun and a bit of a bulge visible in the cut-out between turret and wreath. (Cfr. pic)

          Hi Guys,
First, Don you are doing great job with your pictures.
Now let’s get down to the business. As Philippe already said, the MM for sure looks like original to the badge. However in my opinion (it is my guess only), this is the maker mark and not a quality control mark. Why? This MM was part of the reverse die (one more time this my opinion only). No one would place quality mark already on the reverse die before knowing the final outcome…Unfortunately I’m unable to prove it...

            Robert,
It very would could be the manafacturers mark for the flatback PAB. The flatback is a common PAB and yet this is the first one we have seen with this mark. I find that odd.

It is out of the ordinary Chet, much like the marked FCL PAB that Kia sold about a year ago.

Not exactly the same Don, at least with FCL we knew what we were looking at

Maybe not exactly the same but still, a hitherto unseen mark on a PAB. Just goes to show that we haven't seen it all.

                    Chet,
It is my strong believe that there is more these "G" marked badges in collections all over the world. Unfortunately we (the forum members), are still very small society here.

                      Robert,
Indeed, I agree with you that we are a mere precentage of all collectors. There probably are items that would turn us on our collective heads.

                        Chet,
You are 100% correct. God only knows what else is waiting for us to discover in the future...

LOL... You know, Peter updated with one kind of like that but it only had one head on it today. Think it's good?
