Nice ''Halfmoon'' GAB variant with quality coating and finish. Nothing wrong with this piece.

Very nice addition...I'm always a fan of anything copper coated.

Hello gents, why do they refer to this GAB as "Half Moon"?

The more common set-up variation of this badge has a hinge plate in the shape of a half moon.
That nickname is not really applicable for this variation although people still use the term to identify as the maker is still unknown.
Just do a search on the half moon gab and it will become clear.
Lovely badge that started this thread. Great detail and in very good condition.

Nice half-moon GAB pick up! Lovely finish on yours and as the others have said, it is the lesser-common hardware setup variant. The one Steve shows from the WAF Database is the more common hinge, hence its common name half-moon.

Surprising that we still don't know exactly who the maker is behind this nice-looking GAB.

The half-moons hinge plates have slight hardware variation too. The one that Steve shows has a tall hinge. Here is other one with a shorter, fatter block hinge.

If it doesn't have a hinge and catch, I'm not interested......well, maybe a little
