    Agree in 100%.
Let's focus now on the pictures posted by Philippe. I really hope that owner of this badge is still our forum member and he will recognize these pictures...

      Philippe;

Please post a picture for comparison where you see a nickel-silver Porsche next to an assman PAB.

      Cheers,

          Hi!

Thats odd! The normal size is approx the assman measurements which mine has as well. Too bad you dont have a better photo of the bronze badge. When just the measurement is different but many details are the same... Thats computer copied to me... How many years have you had this pic?

          But I dont know....

There are those more knowledgeable than me to answer this question better.

          Cheers,

          Felix

Not that it changes anything you know by now, Felix, but to make you feel even better, your last pics convinced me too that your badge is not one of the Porsche fakes.
            Cheers, Frank

              My "Porsche" PAB

              Hello,

I thought you all might like to see my original example.

Here's my "Porsche" Panzer badge. I have owned this piece for 28 years and it came directly from the reciepient.

It is not a solid nickle silver (I have been looking for one for some time) badge either. I have always believed it to be plated bronze as the bronze has bled through to the surface (why,.......I can't say for sure). The bronze areas which show through is not due to wear either, as it is only located in the recessed areas of the badge, neither is it bronze plated or washed. All the high areas are nickled as is the back.

              It is an interesting badge.

              Chuck

                    ...

                    Absolutely beautiful badge you have!

Its very interesting because it has many features in common with my badge. The angeled hinge for instance! Its also in a worn contition and you can easily see the brass that the catch is made of. The pin is also spot on! The back side shows a not very tarnished or oxidized surface which gives it less contrasts.

I like the provenance you have. 28 years since you got it, right? And it was from the soldier being awarded with it. Great! This is valueable information. Thanks for posting pictures and and letting us know this information.

                    Cheers,

                    Felix

                      Hi Chuck,

Thanks for posting your badges. You think you could capture the bronze you are talking about in a picture?

The buntmetall catch for sure is something these angled cut hinge Porsches seem to have in common but that you won't find on early "normal hinge" porsches. Somehow the material these catches are made of reminds me of what you seen on LW badges.

What would be the chance that indeed two manufactures were involved in making these badges taken in to account the subtile die flaws all seem to have in common

I will have to borrow a friends camera as mine will not photograph that closely and either post them here later or send them directly to you.

As far as two different makers, well, we have learned that such thought is not so strange anymore. It is quite possible.

                          Hi Chuck,

I'm looking forward to your pics, many thanks in advance

We certainly should keep good track of these "angled cut" Porsche. Well for what it's worth I know of one example out there with partialy cut grass area.

If there are any more out there please don't hessitate to post them in this thread.
