What do you reckon this badge is made of? From the pictures it sure looks like it might have been made from Nickel silver. I only have one of these badges in my files, thanks to you I now have two

I don't know for sure what the Müller Infantry Badge is made from, but it could very well be a nickel/silver alloy as you say. It does seem to be a better quality base metal, and despite the fact that this badge is stamped, it is very sturdy. The badge weighs only 14.9 grams, but remember that the badge is missing it's catch and most of the pin. The reverse of the badge is dark like the color of zinc, but the badge is definitely not zinc. The dark color appears to be more of a tarnish/patina due to age. The front has that real shiny, chrome-looking finish. The badge is actually brighter looking than the picture shows.
