    Assault Badge Finds

    Hello to all,
I picked up these badges (and one medal) today. The Panzer Badge, and the Bronze Infantry Assault are both FLLs. The Silver Infantry Assault is a stamped out hollowback that I believe was made by Ernst Müller.
    Best regards! Tom

Before today, I had never owned an FLL Panzer Badge. It is really a nicely detailed badge.

This Bronze FLL Infantry Badge still retains most of it's finish.

Unfortunately, part of the catch is broken off this example.

I believe this Silver Infantry Assault is by Ernst Müller, and I would appreciate a confirmation on this if possible. In the first place, the issue packet that came with this badge is marked to Ernst L. Müller, Pforzheim. Of course, this doesn't prove anything because who can say if the badge and packet were originally paired together. The front of this badge does remind me of a solid-backed, maker marked Müller badge that I use to own. (And I'm talking about at least 25 years ago or more.) It was a badge I always regretted selling, and I have never forgotten what the thing looked like. This hollowback badge that I got today looks identical (if my memory is correct) to the solid backed Müller badge that I owned so many years ago. This badge has a chrome-like finish to the front. I also believe this to be a very scarce badge to find. Am I on track with this or am I way out in left field? Thanks for any and all assistance!

Here is the reverse. Unfortunately, most of the pin, and the entire catch are gone from this badge.

                        Hello Robert and Ron,

                        Thanks for the responses.

Ron. No, these were not from a show. I picked them up from a family member of a WWII Veteran.
                        Best regards! Tom

                            Tom,
All nice pieces. I agree that the hollowback IAB is a unmarked Ernst Muller. Marked or not, a hard IAB to come by for sure. The PAB is a very nice example.

                              Morning Tom,

Well congrats on these wonderfull additions to your collection

The FLL are both superb and the E. Müller ISA in it's hollow form for sure is one of the rarest IAB's arround.

What do you reckon this badge is made of? From the pictures it sure looks like it might have been made from Nickel silver. I only have one of these badges in my files, thanks to you I now have two
