    Panzer badge by Orth

Is this sane...? Admittedly, "f.o."-marked badges aren't exactly common, but...? Reaching $300.00...?

      Hi Mike,

It probably makes sense for the "maker mark" collector but not to the PAB collector. Quality and design wise this is as bad as it gets when it comes to PAB's.

Just like any other "Wernstein (trabbi) design PAB, with the exception of EWE and AWS (design wise just the same but their quality finish makes up for a lot) these are low quality badges that shouldn't command a premium.

That being said the maker mark is very rare but it's up to every collector to decide for himself what he's willing to pay for that mark.

Unfortunately we have helped drive the price of these up. For guys that do collect maker marks this is a hard one to find and if it one of the last ones you need you might be willing to go higher yet. There will always be someone out there looking for one of these and its not like you won't be able to sell it if you need to. This badge would lst 10 seconds on the estand before being sold at its current price IMO.

A minty AS in triangle with its box sold for 600$ on the estand over the weekend. There seems to be no end to the rising prices for PABs.

I wonder if the swaz on the FO is just retouched or is it denazified?

Don is right, and frankly I dont see the big deal over 290 US.We all have seen the going price for a luftwaffe Pilots badge lately. What makes them any rarer than these? I see Luft badges every day but have only seen limited quantites of the rarer PAB makers. If you ask me its about time the price variances have caught up with the Wehrmacht badges. Just my opinion though...

I agree with Don and Scott reguarding this PAB. IMO, $300 is just the opening bid on this one.....

Maybe so, but if I wanted to run up some big bids on PABs I think I would go for this one... http://cgi.ebay.de/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?...sPageName=WDVW

IMO, $300 is a fair price for a rare piece of history.

I guess it depends upon what you collect ...
.. rare history or pretty jewelry.

I'm with Don, Scott and Chet. Chet knows exactly where I expect FO PABs to be in 24 months.
