Hello Ian
Could you please just point out the things that signal to you that these are fakes. This is for me in an effort to have better education when it comes to buying German SS items. Most especially the Helmet cover, I have had a lot of people look at this and reassure me of its authenticity. I remember one particular "specialist" wanting to buy this from me for somerhing approaching 600 pounds, and yes by the sound of things I should have taken the money, but I would never do that knowingly

As I said before I cannot comment on the standard SS buckle.
Hope this helps, Ian.

If you post clear photos of items BEFORE you buy them then an experienced collector may choose to help you.
There is no entitlement to immediate, free access to 'an expert' which so many younger people seem to take for granted these days. My advice is to study the items you wish to buy and empower yourself ... it's what so many of us have had to do over the years.

Hi Ian Well thanks for that, depressing as it is at least I know now. I think I will give the Medals etc. a wide berth from now on. I will just stick to German ammunition from now on, also German radio sets. Cheers mate

Hi Ian
Well at least the SS buckle seems to be the real thing, will need to do more research on it, but it has received one cautious thumbs up perhaps. I would like to thank you for your frank honest words, better to get straight forward advice.
Have a great Christmas, and a safe New Year, although Political Correctness says I must say Happy Holidays. Whatever just be safe. Iain

Please show a picture of the back side of the buckle, and I will most likely be able to confirm if the buckle is original or not, for sure. Of course, the buckle forum would give you more opinions from several collectors, but these early buckles are not difficult to judge, imo, (with both sides visible). Looking forward to seeing the rest.
