One thing I noticed on both of mine are the enameling doesnt have that pebbled texture underneath the enamel.

Case is fine IMO, "Lüdenscheid" is correct.

It wasn´t unusual to have 8 or more children in Germany before the war. My grandma had 8 children and i know at least from 10 or more families in neighborhood, that had 8 or more as well.

To the dot read also this thread:

      best,

Thanks for all the input guys.

Oh, Eric, it does help, from what I can see so many crosses have a slight
difference in the date font and also in Hitler's signature, so with so many
variations it's easyer to accept all kinds of variations

From what I learned there are slight variations in : case color, case size,
fonts on back of cross, swastika size, cross size ( especialy width ), cross
weight, Hitler's signature, the background pattern below the enamel . . .

        Regards,

        Ran

Hi Gerd to my understanding the u in Ludenschied would appear as you have shown in your e-mail with the two points sitting on the top and a slight curve to the top of the u. Ran,s box has the two points sitting just below the top part of the u. Just a thought on my behalf. Not trying to be awarkward but i believe excepting all variations will only allow the fakers easier access to the hobby. Just trying to help and come to some sort of conclusion. All the best.

            Hi,

no problem at all. Scepticism isn´t bad at times The points sitting inside the U is only a variation. Its the font. I can´t speak to the originality of the cross, but i think, there are enough awarded, that there are variations, like Ran´s may be one.

            best,
            Gerd
