This was a project bar I reconstructed. I very recently acquired the medal bar as is without the medals for a very decent price and did no further alteration other than adding the medals.
All the medals were acquired separately. They are tucked into the bisecting seams (no sewing) of the ribbons and just secured in place by the suspension rings requiring no modification. They are actually so firmly in place you can't detect the difference in hand so I will leave as is for a strictly cosmetic appearance.
I understand there are conflicting views and hope I don't take an a$$ beating too bad. As an exception to principle, I believe this medal bar was past due and deserved some TLC to be restored to it's former glory. Furthermore, I did not have to damage the medals other than removing them from open ended ribbons.
