    3pc. Legion Kondor Medal Bar

This was a project bar I reconstructed. I very recently acquired the medal bar as is without the medals for a very decent price and did no further alteration other than adding the medals.

All the medals were acquired separately. They are tucked into the bisecting seams (no sewing) of the ribbons and just secured in place by the suspension rings requiring no modification. They are actually so firmly in place you can't detect the difference in hand so I will leave as is for a strictly cosmetic appearance.

I understand there are conflicting views and hope I don't take an a$$ beating too bad. As an exception to principle, I believe this medal bar was past due and deserved some TLC to be restored to it's former glory. Furthermore, I did not have to damage the medals other than removing them from open ended ribbons.

Here's the Red Cross of Merit. Note the inverted crest and ribbon. I've seen these now and then applied at various angles.

I wish I would have saved images from the other awards I added. Thanks for looking.

I'm a medalbar guy and I must say that you did a really nice job here. Even the medals are showing similar aging as the ribbons. I like it

            Dear Ray,

I love restoring medal and ribbon bars and I think it can only be a good thing, if done properly of course! You have done a splendid job here.

            Best regards
            Pierce

Well done Ray. Love the red cross with inverted disk and Schinkle EK, and you even have a SCW campaign medal with the little 'acorn' at the top, which can be a bit tough to find.

I'm glad everyone's delighted with it. As mentioned, a key point was to select all the medals in corresponding age and wear with the bar itself.

And right, I didn't plan to cut corners or spare no expense by opting for a Schinkle EK as noted. The study and search for the medals was most enjoyable with this project. Thanks for all the supporting comments.

                      Great restoration job Ray

If you hadnt mentioned the medals were replaced I wouldnt have known because they seem to have always been there. Nothing to imrove, enhance or mystify anyone just a great restoration of a little piece of history that would have otherwise been lost to its former glory

                      Regards

                      JC
