This is a repeat thread to a question Mathias Zimmer had posted over a year ago with no responses. I was looking around the net concerning honor goblets and found a source that stated there were 50,000 honor goblets "bestowed", but only 14,000 actually awarded. This would make the honor goblet actually less common than an RK, if we are to beleive that despite 7,400 awarded there were duplicates to make about 15,000-20,000 RKs. Any thougths?

the position of the award compare to a RK is to consider, the fact it is a non portable award, the purpose of the reward (one being specially for the LW) ............. to compare them, IMO, is like comparing bananas and oranges: the purpose of those rewards is distinct (you can have one without having the other)

Nice goblets, Michael. Are they earlier or late versions? To whom are they awarded? Thanks

Tom,
The goblets pictured consist of:
Feldwebel Rudolf Trenkel JG52 RK, ALPAKA.
LT Rudolf Pflanz JG2 RK, 835.
LT Karl-Heinz Stepp RK W/OL, 835.
WW1 Silver Honor Goblet not 'named' of course but, I have the flight log and personal photos.
I have always considered the Luftwaffe Honor Goblet as the most interesting Third Reich 'award'. Given that each Goblet has it's own 'personality', you can never own to many!

There's an Alpaka on the e-Stand right now for considerably less.

Are the 835 awards usually priced higher than the alpaka goblets? Thanks

http://www.germanmilitaria.com/Luft...tos/L08850.htmlCan anybody venture a guess as to what caused that peculiar black band to form all the way around the oakleaves at the base? Is that a repair?
