What country this Red Cross medal is?

    Hi Tom,

    Yes, considering all her work for the red cross it would make sense if it was hers initials.
    Just like the Charlotte cross, it has the initials W and C for Wilhelm II of Württemberg and his second wife queen Charlotte.

    So unless someone has a better idea im gonna assume it is:

    W= Wilhelm R= Rex
    A= Augusta V= Victoria

      This is perfectly German medal and language. "Rothe" is probably an ancient form and "Fuer" is another possibility in German to write word "Für" (for). Although not rare, a really nice bar!

          I'm such an idiot, german Wikipedia had the answer the whole time.
          But atleast we were right.

          (In the cross-angles from left to right, the letters WR (William Rex) above and AV (Auguste Victoria) below.)
