    What is it?

What is this a jewelry box?
Is that insignia indicative of anything in particular or just a superposed stack?

            Nuremberg

This item has a relationship to Nürnberg, these are the city seals and / or crests.

Doesn't mean much, but I haven't seen this before. Looks like what you are suggesting: A superposed stack.

                  Inside of lid.

Inside view of the lid. The initials are LW or LvW. The stones are semi precious.

OK so its from Nurnburg, the insignia is baffling Who could the intials fit?

Can you share with us what you have been told by its owner about it? Many times people who ask questions here already know the answer to their questions or dont share their information completely, even though they have partial information.

                          Bronze Box

The box belongs to me. It was brought back by Col. Charles R. Andrews the first military Governor of Nurnberg.

You are right I am pretty sure I know its use.

But I would like to I D it as to the original owner.. The original owner was probably a high ranking military personality but could be a WW 1 vet and a Party Official.

I need help seeking a name.
