      Hello,

Interesting to read this thread. But I really don't know what to look for at the memel right now

I bought this one on a fleamarket years ago for a couple of euro''s .
It has the slanted G. But it doesn't look like the memel's in the thread.

      Someone could help me out......
      Thank you.
      Jim

Can you post a picture of the other side?

I really don't like the look of this even though it has the slanted G.

Does the edge have a seam line?

The Ribbon was not with the medal.

To me the medal looks cast.

              Maybe from an original.

              The details are rather soft.

I am certainly not an expert, but in my opinion, it does look like a rather poorly done sand casting. Possibly from an original .. It is difficult to be certian by looking at an image, but Jim's images are pretty clear .. Experts agree, you need to hold the item in hand to make an accurate determination .. Weight and dimensions are another factor to consider ..

I'm glad Jim posted images of this medal. It shows that even the slant G types can be suspect ..

I wouldn't feel comfortable with this one in my collection ..

                      All the best ..

I compared the 2 other flower wars medals by weight on a digital scale.

They came in at 14g(without ribbon) my Sudetenland & Memel posted in this thread).

Also slanted G can be crap.
